About Oak City Security Cameras
We install and support camera, alarm and access control systems for businesses and homes across the Triangle. Every job starts with a free on-site survey and ends with a fixed written quote you can hold us to. You own the hardware, the footage and the passwords, and there is no long-term contract.
How a job runs
Three steps, and we do not skip any of them.
The survey comes first. We walk the building with you, look at how someone would actually get in, and mark camera positions on a floor plan with a field of view drawn on each one. That takes an hour on a house and longer on a warehouse. It is free, and the plan is yours to keep.
The quote comes second, in writing. Cameras, recorder, drives, cable, mounts, labor and configuration are listed line by line so you can see what each part costs. The number does not move once you accept it. If something unexpected turns up behind a wall, we stop and talk to you before spending your money.
The install comes third. Cable runs in conduit, trunking or a ceiling void. Cameras are aimed and focused in daylight and again after dark, because an angle that works at noon often fails at 10pm. We clean up, and then we train whoever will actually be asked for footage.
What we commit to
Clean cabling. Nothing stapled across a ceiling tile, nothing draped over a joist, nothing left visible on a front elevation without your agreement.
Survey slots the same week wherever we can. Call on a Monday and there is usually someone at your building before the weekend.
Training before we leave site. The moment you need footage is a terrible time to learn the software, so a manager gets shown how to search a time range and export a clip on their own phone, on the day.
A workmanship warranty on our labor, with manufacturer hardware warranties registered in your name rather than ours.
What you own
Everything. The recorder sits in your building, the drives are yours and the admin credentials are handed over in writing at the end of the job. There is no installer account left behind, no lock that stops another company servicing the system, and no monthly fee to look at your own cameras.
That matters more than it sounds. A good share of our work is rescuing buildings where the previous installer holds the passwords and has stopped answering the phone.
Where we work
Wake County and the eastern edge of Durham County. Downtown Raleigh, North Hills and Midtown, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Morrisville and Research Triangle Park, and downtown Durham.
Those areas are different jobs. A brick warehouse off Davie Street, a tilt-up distribution unit near Aviation Parkway and a new build in Apex need three different approaches to cabling, and the survey is where we work out which one applies to you.

Common questions
What area do you cover?
Wake County and the eastern side of Durham County. That includes Raleigh, North Hills, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Morrisville, Research Triangle Park and downtown Durham. If a site sits outside that range we will say so at the enquiry rather than quote a job we cannot service properly.
Do you charge for a survey?
No. The site survey is free and the camera map we produce is yours to keep whether or not you book the work. The only paid visit we offer without a commitment is a takeover audit on an existing system, and that fee is credited against any work booked from it.
Do I have to sign a monitoring contract?
No. Camera systems record to a recorder you own and need no subscription at all. Where you want alarm monitoring, it runs month to month so you can stop without a penalty or a notice period buried in a schedule.
Are installers licensed in North Carolina?
North Carolina requires alarm and CCTV installation businesses to be licensed by the NC Alarm Systems Licensing Board, and individual installers to be registered. You are entitled to ask any company you are considering for their license details before work begins.
How quickly can you get to site?
Survey slots are usually available within the week. Install dates depend on hardware lead time and the size of the job, and a typical home system is fitted within two weeks of you accepting the quote.
