Privacy Policy

We collect your name, contact details and a description of the building only so we can quote and carry out security work. It goes into our customer records system and nowhere else. We do not sell it. Enquiry records are kept for two years, job records for seven. Email us to see or delete your record.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the website, the quote form, calls and messages you send us, and the records we keep once we quote or carry out work. It is written for customers and prospective customers in North Carolina.

Footage from cameras we install is covered separately at the end of this page, because it works differently from the contact data you give us.

What we collect and why

Through the quote form. Your name, phone number, email address, the property address or area, and whatever you write in the message box about the building and what you need covered. We use this to call you back, book a survey and prepare a quote. We also record the time the form was submitted and a hidden field value, both of which exist to filter automated spam.

On the phone. The same categories, taken down as notes. Calls may be answered by a call handling service during busy periods, in which case the handler takes a message and passes it to us.

Through the website. Standard server request data such as pages viewed, referring page, approximate region and browser type. This is aggregate traffic measurement and is not used to identify you.

During a survey or a job. Notes about the building, a camera plan, photographs of mounting positions and cable routes, and the details needed to raise an invoice and register hardware warranties in your name.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or contribute it to marketing lists or data brokers. We do not use your enquiry to send you unrelated promotional email. We do not run advertising trackers that build a profile of you across other websites.

Where it is stored

Enquiries submitted through the form are delivered to our email and entered into a customer records system, which is a hosted CRM operated under contract. That system is the only third party that holds your contact record. Our web hosting provider processes requests to the site in the ordinary course of serving pages.

If you ask for alarm monitoring, the details needed to set up the account and the emergency contact list are shared with the monitoring center you sign up with. That is the only other disclosure, and it only happens if you choose monitoring.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it, such as a valid court order.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work: two years from the last contact, then deleted.

Quotes, invoices and job records: seven years from completion. Tax record keeping and workmanship warranty claims both need that period.

Survey photographs and camera plans: held for the life of the system so we can service it, and deleted on request once any warranty period has ended.

Cookies and analytics

The site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics we run is limited to aggregate page and traffic counts. Your browser lets you block or clear cookies for this site without affecting your ability to read any page or submit the quote form.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete your record. Email the address shown in the site footer, include the phone number or email you contacted us with, and we will respond within 30 days.

Several US states, including North Carolina residents dealing with companies covered by those laws, give consumers rights to access, correct, delete and opt out of the sale of personal information. We apply the access, correction and deletion rights above to every customer regardless of state. The opt-out right is moot here because we do not sell personal information at all.

Camera footage

Once a system is installed, the recorder and the drives are yours. Footage is recorded in your building on equipment you own, and you control retention, user accounts and who can export a clip.

We do not retain a copy of your footage. We do not keep standing remote access to your system. Where you want help during a support call, you grant access for that session and can revoke it afterwards.

If your system records areas where other people have a reasonable expectation of privacy, or if you enable audio recording, you are the operator of that system and responsible for how it is used. North Carolina is a one party consent state for recording conversations, so at least one participant must know the conversation is being recorded. We will raise this with you at the survey and we recommend taking your own legal advice before enabling audio.

Changes

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and the date below. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

Common questions

How do I get my data deleted?

Email the address in the footer with the phone number or email you used, and ask for deletion. We remove enquiry records on request. Records attached to completed paid work are held for the seven year period needed for tax and warranty purposes, and we will tell you which category yours falls in.

Do you sell or share my details?

No. Your details go into our customer records system so we can quote, schedule and warrant the work. They are shared only with the people needed to do that job, such as a monitoring center if you ask for monitoring. They are never sold or passed to marketing lists.

Who owns the footage from my cameras?

You do. Recorders we install store footage on drives in your building, and the admin credentials are handed to you at the end of the job. We do not hold a copy, we do not have standing access, and we cannot view your cameras unless you specifically grant it for a support visit.
